Vulvar lichen sclerosus

Vulvar lichen sclerosus

Vulvar lichen sclerosus is an autoinflammatory disease that usually manifests as an itchy rash in the anogenital area. Over time, the tissues atrophy and severe cases of prolonged course can lead to scarring and distortion of the normal architecture. In women, this distortion can even lead to total destruction of the labia minora and the clitoris.

The diagnosis must be confirmed by biopsy to distinguish lichen sclerosus from squamous cell carcinoma.

Until now, treatment for lichen sclerosus has been limited to the use of topical corticosteroids. The use of lasers for the treatment of vulvar lichen sclerosus is very recent and finally offers hope to patients for whom treatment was not possible.

The DCL aesthetic medicine clinic in collaboration with Aphrodite Trois-Rivières is proud to be able to offer patients suffering from vulvar lichen sclerosus laser treatment according to the protocols established at the Coyle institute specialized and pioneer in urogenital health in the USA.

Ask your gynecologist to be referred to our clinic so that you can try this innovative treatment.
