Rosacea

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the skin. It most commonly affects the center of the face, but it is also found on the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead and sometimes even the eyes.

Although the first signs may appear as intermittent redness, the color changes quickly return chronically. The skin then goes into an inflammatory process where small bumps and sometimes even pustules appear. The vessels thus enlarged become more and more apparent on the surface of the skin. This gradually becomes uneven or even irregular. The severity varies greatly from person to person.

Rosacea does not go away on its own. Commercially sold treatments help little and can sometimes even make the condition worse by further irritating the skin tissue causing redness and bumps. Your doctor may prescribe different topical or oral treatments that are appropriate depending on the severity of your disease. Rosacea improves within a few weeks when recommended treatments are followed and applied.

At the DCL clinic, our BBL laser helps target and treat vascular abnormalities (dilated vessels) and improve the appearance of the skin by making it smoother where other treatments (topical and oral) have reached their limit. .

It will be our pleasure to assist you in the diagnosis and treatment of your rosacea.
