Micro-needling is practiced in several forms in aesthetic clinics. At the DCL Aesthetic Medicine Clinic, we use the MicroPen Eclipse from Salient. Unlike the “dermaroller”, the micro-needles do not cause trauma due to the inclination of the needles and they penetrate to adjustable depths with an accuracy of 0.1 mm according to the needs and the desired objective.

The results are visible immediately after the microneedling. The skin is luminous, dewy and healthy looking within days of the first treatment. Micro-needling has greater benefits in the medium and long term and it requires some maintenance. A scientific study has shown a 400% increase in the concentration of collagen and elastin 6 months after performing 4 micro-needle treatments at 1 month intervals.

In addition to enhancing the benefits of other cosmetic products used, microneedling can help reduce the appearance of cellulite by increasing skin permeability and ensuring better penetration of applied products.

When applied in combination with a concentrated hyaluronic acid serum or with PRP (platelet rich plasma), it is possible to maximize its effects even more.
